Family History

A few years ago I started exploring my family history. It all began when I bought my wife family tree software for our anniversary, but that is another story! Uncovering the past was every bit as interesting as I thought it might be. I found tales of heroism, scandal, intrigue and even a murder (my relative was the murderee rather than the murderer, and happily they had managed to breed before heading skyward).

After several years of twin enforced years of neglect, I intend to resurrect this project and I’m planning to use this site to collect and share anything striking that I find.

Aside from being fundamentally interesting, I am also determined that this record will help preserve the memory of those that would otherwise drift into obscurity. Ideally I’d like to stop this happening by writing obituaries for my relatives (only the dead ones), although this may be tricky where the mists of time have swallowed all but a name. But I’ll try, and hopefully this page will act as a lasting record and reference source for the memory of those who would otherwise be forgotten.
